School Concert - Bad Times & Bunyips
Two phenomenal nights. "Bad Times and Bunyips", by Deborah Martin was presented in the School Hall on August 26th. and 27th.
"Bunyips" is a tale set in an Australian town of the 1930s and the struggling O'Brien family (8 children!) who happily get saved from their predicament and landord, Silver Sam, by a friendly, but smelly and muddy bunch of Bunyips living in a billabong.
Producer, Mr. Peter Roberts, and our Years 3 to 6 Students had worked hard for over a Term and the capacity audiences on both nights eagerly showed their appreciation at the end of each performance. Sincere thanks to Heather and Therese who, with a little help from others, made a supreme effort with costuming to give the production even more life. This is what Le Page is "on about" - giving our Students a context within which to shine!

Watch out for Bunyips lurking in the billabong!

June, Tom and Nell on a trip to the country looking for work notice the Bunyips (eventually)

Silver Sam (Middle), with his henchmen Sam & Jim, caused the O'Briens some trouble and brought the audience some laughter.

The Bunyips saved the day by giving the O'Briens money left in the billabong by the famous "Swagman".

..and like all good stories, everyone was very happy at the end (with the possible exception of Silver Sam!)!

Thanks, Mr. Roberts, for giving our Students the opportunity to excel!
